ABOUT
Owls is a vienna-based piano trio that cleverly, yet subtly integrates unconventional electronic devices such as tape machines and modular gear. The music is rooted in- and aware of the tradition of both american and european jazz but transcends stylistic borders in a refreshing and unconventional way. Their genuinely audiophile approach leads to partly intense, partly fragile results and will grant a moving, thrilling and entertaining listening experience. Owls' music can be heard and described from different angles - the audiophile approach will always be the red thread.
When the musical career of Owls started with their debut album crumbling light in 2017, it was the beginning of a journey. Their stylistic and artistic view developed over the years, the conceptional cornerstones and foundations of their common musicianship grew and their commitment increased over the years. Owls' music consequently grows from the seeds sown as a group. That is why it is substantially dependent from its particular members Simon, David and Konstantin.
Their music is all about the blissful process of creation in the moment - the precious feeling we want to experience when we are giving or receiving art. They are doing their best to give these moments to listeners and themselves, not by serving an artistic spectacle, but by celebrating music and the creational aspect of it in a live-situation.
